    Default Fender Jazzmaster Japanese reissue

Anyone played these guitars, I always have loved the look of them, but the vintage ones are pricey. Has anyone played these?

I have played a Japanese telecaster and was very satisfied with sound and quality.

I haven't played the Jazzmaster from Japan, but I have two of their Strats, and they are great instruments. Generally, their build quality is quite good, the only thing you might want to upgrade are the pots and the pickups. 8)

I've never played the MIJ Jazzmaster, but i've played the MIJ Jaguar.. I used to have a real pretty one.. that off white, kinda cream color.. flashy pickguard.. it looked like a million bucks, and sounded out o' sight!

Of course, the MIJ pickups leave a little something to be desired.. I highly reccomend replacing the pickups in almost all MIJ or MIM guitars.

I've played a number of them and the mij jazzs and jags are well built but the pickups are weak. I've played a bunch cuz I havent found the right one yet, over all pu's are an easy fix.

Hi, my alltime favorite is my MIJ Jazzmaster. It has been my main guitar for about 7 years now, cause I can play a wide bunch of things on it. I love playing my other guitars (Gretsch Nashville, Gretsch SilverJet, Strat, Gibson LP) as well, all of them costing (a lot) more than the 600 second hand JM, but it just keeps on being my main guit.
Fenderdelic is right about the electronics though: I changed the pickups to Seymour Duncan's Antiquity II's and oh man, the difference was obvious. The other guys in the band didn't know about it, but the first couple of gigs after the 'upgrade' they complimented me spontaneously on my good sound that night
And the tonepot has never worked. I hardly ever use it on my other guitars, but last New Year I made a promise to myself to put in a new one this year

Good New Year's resolution. How's it going?

Nice guitars you've played. Welcome and y'all cum back, hear? :D

P.S. Oh hilarious! I love this forum ... you must stick with it. I actually wrote "come back".

Cream Soda? Sometimes, but I'd rather have *Root Beer*.

Well, it's still in the planning stage

I have already bought one though!
