    Stan,

Inquiring mind here. Are all of your said pedals placed in front of your Fender Deluxe Reverb? Or with that pedal setup does the amp not matter and it could be the "amp du jour?"

You know, I've tried a number of Tube Screamer pedals and never really found one that felt good with my strats, and less so with any other guitars, but then, courtesy of my friend Josh Smith, found the Duellist, expensive but really two different overdrives. The "String Singer" side has the best Strat tones I've ever heard, apparently based on the TS 808. The other side will give you a Marshall-voiced overdrive, so it is really two awesome pedals taking up a smaller footprint on your board.

If I could be you, I would think about order of a kind HM Strat, equipped with true humbucker and pair of single-colied pickups: versatile and friendly. Or some kind of Jim Adkins' Fender Tele JA-90 set neck axe. This second one could be (naked) near 430USD, add pickups and hardware and you're in saddle again
Again once, DiMarzio Humbucker from Hell could sounds close to single coil pickup, or simply keep stock pickups and install split coil micro switch part or push/pull pots?

Elvir, have you actually tried the Humbucker From Hell? It is truly an amazing pickup, but probably should have been called the "Humbucker From Heaven" IMHO. It is really something like the Harmonic Design Z-90, and those two pickups are in their own class. I think they should both be front-runners with their own classification! Good to hear from you, my Bosnian brother!

Hello Doc ;) ... unfortunately, mentioned pups aren't in my possession, I just was lucky to try them playing friends Ibanez, some RG model. I remember that then I said that some marketing guy foolish named this nice pickup. I expected something like DiMarzio Distortion or X2N, like pair inside son's Dean, but it sounded very mellow and articulated, even cranked on 6505+ 112 roar very decent. These days I searched for some mighty pair better than Gibson 500T & 496R and just name attracted me to try. Even I didn't post here nothing for a while I visited FT in regular times, just to check everything is nice and smooth. Last few months I was very busy, finally it's end of school year and this year I was involved into many projects, led committee for help to children with special needs, made some educational software and still in progress making advanced library software for schools here. No money, just pleasure and honor, as usually, but I don't give up. Maybe someone will show some money for my all effort... who knows? Kids and happiness at first. Ladies after that. I also noticed new "war" between US and EU and I'm afraid that it will raise up already high prices of US gears here... I hope not. Guitars slowly lost importance by young people here and higher prices will not help, maybe only to Chibson makers from PRC to get more easy money. Have a nice rest of weekend.

The Only Thing That Remains The Same Is Change

Last night we had another lineup change. The Boss FDR-1 '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb has been swapped out for the EH Soul Food. Hah!

What the FDR-1 was doing was sounding fine in my ears, but I had it set to add little more overdrive and a healthy dose of reverb. While that sounded good in my ears, when I walked out into the big room and listened to it, more reverb was not working well. It was just too much, the room itself adds plenty of natural reverb. And the Soul Food was just waiting in the wings for its chance.

    Stay tuned,
    Stan

Good on ya mate! Anything by T.C. Electronic is topnotch. I haven't tried one of those and I'm not sure it's big enough for my feets to find it.

This is what I've got going right now. The Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive and the Boss Blues Driver BD-2 are modified by Keeley. The extra Boss switch is set up as a tap tempo for the Boss Digital Delay DD-7. Everything is currently running at 9v, except the Fulltone OCD which is using 18 volts and loving it.
