    Default Jaguar tremolos

Did anyone else notice how great the tremolo on a Jaguar feels? I tried a used one out at a guitar store and it was the smoothest trem I've ever played. My favorite guitars are Strats and Pauls, but the Jag definitely has that going for it. And I'm not normally a tremolo guy.... I ABHOR Floyd Roses and most of my vibrato comes from my left-hand technique. But that Jag I loved... any thoughts?

I have a Carvin with a Wilkinson Trem and a G&L with a G&L trem. They are both very nice. Smooth, dependable, and they stay in tune. I use them once in a while but I'm not a trem freak. 8)

The Jag Trem is much more subtle than the Strat. No dive-bombing is gonna happen here, fo rbetter or worse. FWIW I'm a Floyd-hater, too.

I never really cared for it. The Jag style trem requires the floating bridge, which IMO is the primary reason the guitar has NO sustain. Locking the trem out eliminates any tuning issues at all, but the floating bridge remains to rob energy from the string.

I should point out that my Jag is one of the old ones, so perhaps they are doing something different these days.

Yeah, the new Jags are much nicer:
