Default Difference between Strat and Tele

This is embarrassing, but I STILL can't remember the difference between the two. When Calif-Tele does guitar tracks I have to ask him "What do we use for traditional country, I forget".

So if some of you could post differences of the two guitars and general styles their used for, that would be very nice of you indeed. For newbies like me...

Default Difference between Strat and Tele

A Strat can be used for any darn thing except the heaviest metal unless the pickups are changed.

So many people cross over though... Keith Richards and The Boss play teles and Garth Brooks, Glen Campbell, and Vince Gill play strats.

50's and early 60's rock was often associated with the strat ie; Buddy Holly, The Ventures, and Dick Dale.

ACFixer, if that's your guitar in your yard, I'm jealous. Of the guitar and of the yard. That is the greenest grass I've ever seen.

I'm almost 18, but I can already tell my mission in life is going to be to have grass as green as that in MY yard.

    Anyway...yeah...GO TELES!

Hey thanks apocolypse! I am known for having the greenest grass in the neighborhood. It's dormant right now so it fades a bit during the winter. Come March it will turn as green as green gets again

This has to be a petty attempt by CM to see a round of dozens from the NY contingent of the board. CM must also be into S&M.
Use your decoder ring (which I seem to have not gotten mine in the mail yet) to I-n-s-t-i-g-a-t-o-r.

    Scott,

Yea, we all saw it but now that James has "come into the light", what more needs to be said? His actions say it far better than any game of Dozens ever could.

Incidentally, one of James' groups in his heyday was the Instigators.

    Regards,
    Roy

    Cool

Is this a last ditch attempt by Frank Zappa to get his cruddy music on the radio?
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.
It makes some men crazy and they talk like fools.
Makes some men crazy and they start to drool.
