C'mon guys! G & L's aren't clones. They're evolutions. Strats and Teles "evolved" didn't they? I thought clones were copies.

Levinson (Swiss) - now there's a Strat copy! Take that on, Corona!

Tele copy ... IMO somewhere between www.vintique.com and www.Area51guitars.com

Les Paul? It's the Tokai Love Rock. I thought everyone knew that!

Pardon me, I'm in a beery assertive (or defensive?) mood right now.

When the forum "broke down" (and crashed my computer, hehe) I jus' didn't have anything to do except get frustrated. No Strat talk, girlie pics 'n stuff.

Can't beat Warmoth in my opinion, I'd stand a good parts guitar up against any mass produced instrument.

As for worst strat, my friend's encore was pretty rough, you could walk a giraffe under those strings and it sounded thinner than a famine victim. But it looked like a strat, and to him I think that was the main thing.

Best Les Paul-a-like I've played was a japanese Tokai, wasn't as nice as the SG from the same range though.

The worst was probably an epiphone odly enough.

I don't have much experience with the other instruments mentioned, but the BEST Strat copy I've ever seen was something called a "Gavash."

I'm told it was made by a guitar builder for Hamer USA. I'd put it up against any new Fender instrument, American made or otherwise. In fact, I'm loathe to even call it a Fender copy.

The body is one piece Korina and the fretboard is flawless ebony. The frets are crowned PERFECTLY. The neck is set perfectly straight with no relief and yet there is no fret buzz whatsoever.

I just made a $100.00 down payment on a day ago. Hopefully it will be mine within a month.

    STRAT:

    Worst: Behringer
    Best: Tokai ST-50
Can you honestly say that there is a more beautiful guitar than a reliced Olympic White '62 Stratocater?:)

    Behringer makes guitars?
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.
It makes some men crazy and they talk like fools.
Makes some men crazy and they start to drool.
