    Ya mon. I played flats until I discovered Rotosound strings way back when. And I never looked back. Not that there is anything wrong with the good ol' tone that was laid down on thousands of hits, but I just liked the round wound tone better.

    There is an article in October issue of Vintage Guitar magazine detailing Steve Wariner's '62 Fender Jazz Bass that has a set of 20 year-old flatwound strings on it, and he still records with it. Check it out.

    Funnily enough just put these on my P bass. I love the feel not like the barbed wire standard fender affairs but i kept the originals just in case. as there was nothing wrong with them (i rarely play this as i have an ibanez gigging bass) I dont trust pubs.
    men never grow up ! our toys just get more expensive !
