New (to me) thing....
Hey, People... I've had a suspicion there was an issue with my Strat but haven't been able to pin it down. What happens is that while playing (though an amp) the volume will fade out. Initially, I suspected the amp as this only seemed to happen at rehearsals where I keep an amp just for that. But now, I have come to believe it's my Lone Star Strat, so I looked under the hood but didn't see anything odd so closed her back up again. Then, I connected an ohm meter to the jack with a short patch cord and found this: In every pickup position, if I roll the volume knob just off wide open, (at about '9') I get an O/L for a very brief time. This has to be the pot, doesn't it? I usually don't adjust the volume control much, but am still thinking "If something ain't right, it's some kind of problem that should be fixed, anyway..."
I should mention that when I'm plugged in and playin', I can't create the 'fading' issue by manipulating the volume control... It just happens at random without moving the pot... :~(
I'd appreciate any comments...Last edited by badxmpl; 11-12-2019 at 07:49 PM.
