Default To Bigsby, or not to Bigsby?

Should I, or shouldn't I? My number one Les Paul has been through so many reincarnations that I should feel sorry for him, but he is a soldier and he just takes what he is given and keeps on fighting. Right now, I am considering re-installing a Bigsby on the poor fellow. Years ago, I did have a Bigsby on there, so it wouldn't be a big deal, not much more than changing strings to bolt that contraption on there again.

I have a Bigsby on my ES-335 and enjoy wagging it once in awhile, so I was considering putting one on a solid body for the fun of it. Naturally, this LP would be the likely candidate. But should I?

The plus side would be all the quirky little things you can do with that big aluminum handle, and the downside would be the increase in weight on what is already my heaviest LP. What do you guys think, yay or nay?

I have one question.... Since you had it on the Tele once before, do you remember why you took it off?

OK, I have another one now; Don't you have a Strat with a functioning trem?

Sure. Why not? If it's been on there before, what do you have to lose other than some down time.
If you don't put it back on, it's liable to eat away in the back of your subconscious until you do.

    Thanks for the responses, guys!

@ Mike - My lower back is doin' fine, thank you very much! For many years I have been using a guitar strap that I made from two belts that go over both shoulders, spreading the load. No pain, all gain!

@ Lucky - I took it off because I was having a few tuning issues with it, and I was also flailing wildly at the guitar ala Neil Young and Pete Townsend. I have had some time to learn how to properly set up a Bigsby, so the tuning thing shouldn't be a big issue, and I'm not quite as wild on the guitar anymore so maybe I won't injure myself. And yeah, I have a few Strats that I have set up with floating trems, but a Bigsby does have a whole different feel to it.

@ KWal - Yeah, why not? I have several other great Les Pauls with the normal tail piece so this will give me a new approach, kinda like a knuckleball pitcher.

Not yet! After getting some feedback, I've decided to add a Vibramate String Spoiler into the mix. I'm gonna order one after the Christmas season.

    Vibramate String Spoiler.

I had to look that one up. Hope it all works out for you. Remember, "pics, or it never happened."
