Any high-voltage transformer will do - I've seen guys use a 2000-volt transformer from a microwave, a 6000-volt transformer from a neon sign, variac, etc. I don't know what this guy uses, but he's running 9000 volts.

    Wow! A worthy endeavor indeed!
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.

Very cool! I wonder if there's a way to orient the 'tracking' toward the output jack...

    Cool

Wow, Mike... it seems like another great project, I can imagine midnight blue with lightning bolts you already carved... but you'll maybe do it on your way, that's also great. Did you think that electro-carving is more suitable to some pointed guitars, aimed for metal genres than "round shaped" one? That's what I think... but you know - many people, many opinions...
I can't wait to see another Aronson's axe "spanked" with electro-carving, I'm sure it will be another exciting project and new experience.

Great idea. Would definitely be more effective on a body with top-mounted jack like an SG or 335.

Oh, yes, this technique would be most excellent on a Metal-style guitar!
