    Default YouTube upload!

    Greetings all,

I finally posted a YouTube video, as promised, but I'll readily admit I cheated a little on the soundtrack. I used a song I recorded in the 90s with my friend Sue Dale on piano, and me on everything else. Back in those dark days before EZ Keys and Superior Drummer, when we were all forced to program drum machines and edit MIDI tracks - not to mention before Suhr reactive loads and such - it was a little more difficult. But then, I was younger and had more energy! Unfortunately, all I have is the mp3, so I was sort of compelled to use the song as is, so this is the best I could do with video editing to get the right length. I'm still learning how to use video editing software, so....

OK..excuses over with, as far as gear, I do believe I used a Mesa studio preamp at the time and, I think, a Quadraverb. I was flirting with nylon strings at the time, so this was a Godin Multiac on those nylon parts. That's about all I can remember from almost 25 years ago.

Anyway, I hope y'all enjoy it - if not the music, at least the drive through Georgetown.

I think that would have sounded pretty nice, Srini, but I had to turn it down so I could drive....

Well I loved it! I thought it had a bit of a Steely Dan / Donald Fagan feel, very relaxing.
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.
It makes some men crazy and they talk like fools.

Thanks, Stan! I did realize, though, that the audio volume was way too high and could have used a little compression, so I did that, reduced the volume and re-uploaded the video. I edited the OP with the new link.

Thanks for the Steely Dan comment. It's hard to say whether I succeeded, but this song was a deliberate attempt to copy that feel. I had to get Sue to listen to a bunch of Steely Dan songs to copy Fagen's piano style. Anyhoo.......

No need to watch it again, but it's a lot easier on the ears now!

Well, I couldn't access it. YT says you removed it.

My apologies, Mike. I had trouble getting YouTube to upload in HD, and had to try a few times. Should be all set now! Sorry again!

Very nice! I had in my mind a sort of Steely vibe going on. Nice post!

Worked for me - excellent job! Reminded me of Earl Klugh.
