    Default Howdy From Dallas, Texas

Took me a while to find this place, but here I am. Looking forward to all of the knowledge that ya'll care to share.
I've got many guitars but by and far, my favorite is my mid-90's Custom Shop Strat with Texas Specials. I'll upload a few pics of her and the Blues DeVille in a day or so.

    Thanks for having me.

    Welcome aboard!

    You have Tele too, right?

Me? No. Not yet at least. I've had almost everything but a Tele over the years though.
Closest I've come to a Tele is a Kramer Farrington acoustic electric.
    One of these days though...

Hmmm... this thread is bordering on blasphemy now! You live in Texas and don't own a Telecaster?

Yeah... I know. (Head hangs in shame).
Tele's always made me think of Buck Owens, and while as a guit-fiddler, Buck was great, I'm not much of a fan of the man himself. That and I've always leaned towards musical styles that didn't always fit the Tele sound.
    One day though...

So, you have been floored by Danny "The Humbler" Gatton, right? Just kidding man, I didn't get into Teles until late in my career, and even now I don't play them as much as I should, but I have a few and they certainly can do the job. Plus, there is something beautiful in their simple utilitarian functionality, which is to say that they can do it all with less.

And there are some Tele fanatics on this site, so be prepared for the barrage!

Man, I miss Danny Gatton. Roy Buchanan too.
I was living in the D.C. /NoVa area and had just started getting into both of them at the times of their passings. Such a great loss for the music community.
