A Tele for a Gibson Man
This is for Bryan Elijah Smith, a very talented and prolific singer-songwriter-guitarist from the Shenandoah Valley. Dude's got 11 CDs of original material and I love 'em all.

A Star Is Born!
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.
It makes some men crazy and they talk like fools.
Makes some men crazy and they start to drool.

I suggested a very simple top, to let the flame set everything else off. But he saw another similar guitar with a wood pickguard and wanted me to try that. So I bought this thing on eBay and trimmed off the parts that accommodate the traditional tele bridge plate and hot dog control plate.

My intention is to use spray adhesive to fuse this piece of eucalyptus burl to the pickguard and then sand and lacquer it after trimming.
