    Default Aloha from Honolulu

Hello all. I'm a new member from Hawaii. I'm a longtime Strat player, since around '72. I worked for many years at the largest Martin, Taylor, and Gibson dealer here in Hawaii, but just recently retired from there, 'cause I'm in poor health, they had to move to a new location, and the new spot was just too hard for me to get to. Being a Fender fanatic, I've spent as much money at the local Fender dealer here as I did at our store. Because of my health and my age I don't play out anymore, but still enjoy laying down a rhythm in my looper or with Band in a Box, and then jamming a lead over it.
I lived in the Bay Area all my life before moving to Hawaii in '95, and I'm very lucky to have been a teenager in the late sixties and early seventies, and have many fond memories of seeing many rock legends live at the Fillmore, Winterland, Berkeley Community theater, and later on, Shoreline amphitheater.
    Happy Holidays to all!

Welcome, Doug - you've obviously seen it all! To be a teenager in the late 60s in SF - could anybody ask for more?

Welcome to FenderTalk, Doug! I hear ya, I grew up in the same period in the San Joaquin Valley, and we used to drive over to Frisco for some wild weekends on a regular basis. I got to see a lot of those great bands myself, it was an incredibly rich period for rock music. I'm glad you found us here!
