I notice most videos show using 300 - 400 sandpaper. Why not use 1000 - 2000? Just curious if there is an reason... also when do you wet sand and when not to?

Update: Hello all thanks again for all the responses and advise! This is a fun journey.

I️ purchased a loaded control plate because I️ figured that building my own could be a separate project in the future :) https://reverb.com/item/684046-fende...ots-crl-switch

I️ grabbed a set of vintage Fender tuners, a fender curves top neck backplate and a fender modern bridge...

I️ picked up an unfinished maple neck so I️ can custom curve the back to give it a little character. :) http://www.guitarfetish.com/XGP-Prof...-_p_16602.html

Any recommendations on an inexpensive fret crowning file? Iíve watched a million videos and seen it done many ways. Just looking for some advise.
