Middle Pickup is Dead
So, long story short, i think my mid pickup is dead.
i have my ohms meter set at 20k and all the other pickups are reading between 5.52 and 5.62 the mid pickup reads 1.
I read somewhere that you can flip the pick guard over, and use a metal object like a small screwdriver to touch all the solder points, starting from the switch and you should hear a buzz, and when you don't, you have begun to find your problems.
i did that. ...
The weird thing is the mid pick up lead wire (yellow) buzzes, but the neck and the bridge pickup leads yield no sound.
On the negative side of the switch all the black wires buzz except for the black wire on the terminal closest to you in the picture (which goes to the bridge tone pot )
the middle tone pot black wire buzzes and the volume black wire buzzes along with the white wire to the input jack that also buzzes.
None of the ground wires soldered on the back of the volume and 2 tone pots yield a buzz (i think that is good?)
The two capacitors also give no buzzes at their solder points.
I think i'm close but before i put a new set of strings on to retest the mid pickup, i want to reach out and see if y'all have any other suggestions?

A new pickup. Sounds like that one has relocated to Short Circuit City.

Yeah, I wouldn't waste a set of strings just to find out your pickup is dead. Wire a new one in there, and then string it up!

Thanks for the replys all.
Im bummed out because this is my first time opening up this MIM strat, i thought these were just MIM pickups, but they say DAllen TRU vintage 54...and after research those are a $200 set. So now im like, do i spend 20 buck on a MIM pup or try to match the middle or just go with another $200 set for something like Texas Specials....idk. i use position 2 of the switch for the noise cancelling so i wonder what a DAllen bridge mixed with a MIM cheapy middle will sound like...

You also have a 50% chance of getting the RWRP that will give you hum-cancelling in the 2nd and 4th switch positions. The ideal solution would be to contact David Allen and ask if you can order a single pickup, just a middle pickup for a True 54 set.
