Default Calling all wah wah dudes...

I have recently loaded two boards with excellent wah pedals, both of which have the perfect sweep for me. Here's the problem: both are previously-owned and the little felt pad that impacts the switch had been compressed thin enough that I had to jump on the damn thing to get it to engage. So I switched them out for new felt pads (adhesive-backed pads for furniture legs) and now the felt is so thick that as I get to the top of the frequency sweep I turn it off. How can I find a happy medium??

Doesn't the on/off switch have threads? Maybe you could fine-tune (lower it some) it with an A/N washer to balance out the thicker pad. Or, Does the manufacturer of the pedal have replacement rubbers so you don't have to re-engineer the whole thing?

I'll look inside and see if I can slip a washer onto the switch mount.

I've never owned a Wah Wah pedal, am I missing out on anything?

You haven't owned one but you've heard many, so it's up to you. There is definitely a coordination thing that requires practice and repetition to get to the point where you can express yourself properly/optimally, and I intend to get there some day/year/decade.

I am a recovering wah-wah-holic. Having done hundreds of gigs through the funkified years, I got hooked on those things, and even came down with a bad case of wah-wah jaw (you know, where you can't stop your jaw from bouncing to the beat). I was never a great funk player, but with that rocker pedal I passed for an adequate one. I purposely haven't had one on my pedal board for a long time.
