Default And now for something slightly different...

It is a carved-top Lesterminator wit a second smaller cutaway on the upper bout. Here she is with a bit of amber and brown rubbed into the top and then sanded back until the pigment remains only in the "deep" side of the flame. A sealer coat has been sprayed. Next will be slight amber for the top (I'm thinking Kiwicaster but a tad darker and with a drop of brown). Back and sides will be a mixture of brown, amber and red, in order of decreasing proportions.

Because of its irreverent, sacrilegious departure from tradition, and because I'm building it for west-coast blues man (and super-white reggae man) Rusty Zinn, I will call this one the Zinfidel.

Hey Herb! Really nice to see you again.

A Lesterminator named Zinfidel, I'm liking that!

Although asymmetrical, I really like that design.

But is it still cool if it ends with "infindel?"

That's a sweet looking guitar, BTW. I dig the assymetry, as I probably would anything that made it not a Les Paul.

The upper bout reminds me of the double-cut Yamaha that Carlos Santana played in the late 70s:

I always thought that was a cool guitar.

It's also a bit similar to the Bob Weir Ibanez model.

Yes, that's the other one I thought about.
