Default Fender AVRI 52 - 1996 - Is it authentic?

    Hello,

Recently I've purchased second hand avri 52 online.
The seller said that it's authentic and no modification has been made.
I suspect that the pickups replaced and maybe pots and switch.

I'm not familiar with this model and would appreciate your help figuring which parts are original and which replaced?

    Thanks in advanced,
    Tulip.

I'm no expert but I'd say the pickups aren't original (I'd expect them to have cloth covered wire as per original '52 spec). The general sloppy look of the soldering job (burnt cloth wiring/use of sticky tape/solder splash, etc.) looks like it's been messed with to me.
I'm a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

The neck pickup is probably seymoure duncan:

Now we have to figure what is the bridge one?

Well it's definitely been resoldered, at least once! I can't quite read the numbers on the pots, but you can search those and get dates.

@SAguitar - As far as I know 52 pots have gold shaft, mine is silver.

Mine is a '96 as well. Do yourself a favor and ditch that mud-digger neck pickup...

No offense, but that is a GREAT guitar and IMO you quit worrying about the authentic BS and just play that thing to death.

This is what the pickups should look like:
