Default New song - Strands That Bind

    Guys,

I just finished another song, and the youtube clip:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV5fT6PveiA

Yes, I know, another slow boring ballad, but thats the way they're coming out. Hopefully the next one will be a little more uptempo, but I tend to go with the flow. Nothing much new in the recording process or signal flow, except that I ended up using only the Redwood USACG on this. As much as I love the other two guitars (and as much as I was dying to use the Zexcoils), this one seems to be turning into my voice, especially through the Gries in tweed mode; and its pretty good for rhythm too, seems to sit well in the mix.

Anyway, I hope y'all like it.

I like it, seriously. You said once you don't like bridge PU, but IMO in this song was enough "free" place to involve 10-15 sec of bridge, just to spice mellow theme... Good thing Srini.

    Thanks, buddy!

Technically, you are absolutely right - there was room for a "bridgey" tone, but somehow I'm not connecting emotionally with the bridge pickup, of any guitar. Maybe I'll evolve into that some day, but call me weird; I'm not able to play to a bridge tone.

I liked it. Very melodic and soothing. Used it as my post-work email soundtrack.

Yep, I like that. Very Carltonesque to my ears.

Yeah, it does have a certain Larry-like feel, and that is certainly high praise! I can hear some Jeff Golub in there too. Nice job.

Thank you so much, mrjaggisan, Capt, Stan; you're way too kind! Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead! At the very least, a short break before I work on the next one, if only to put 6V6s back in the Viking and re-bias, since the 6L6s run too hot for extended use. That Suhr box is definitely a godsend, no? I'm really hoping to use the Zexcoils in the next one...
