Wow - I checked out some of the clips and videos, and those Zex Coils have some serious TONE! Watch your back, Mr. Kinman!

Yeah, I've been to Zex coils before, and they do sound wonderful.

    Thanks Elvir!

Those sound cool and I checked the John Bendy video. Very cool! He has a sort of a MIke Campbell vibe going on there!

Very nice clips. I have half a mind to get a pre-wired set for my alder USACG strat. One thing I'm wondering is, in positions 2 and 4, will they still retain the character of two singles being wired in parallel? Then again, these pickups seem to use a rather unconventional noise cancelling system, so maybe thats a non issue.

There is plenty of "quack" in those positions.

I did some reading and some thinking, and finally decided to spring for a Hybrid Set (Suggestion #2) with black covers. The plan is to swap the DiMarzio Cruiser/Transition set to the swamp ash strat (in which, I think the DiMarzio Choppers are a tad dark - I mean, a DARK swamp ash strat? Come on!) The final configuration will be these new zexcoils in the alder strat after swapping the current set into the swamp ash start, then selling the Choppers and the DiMarzio HB (can't even remember which one it is now).

Since I'm going to do my usual sloppy wiring job myself, I plan to to use one master volume, one master tone and a blower switch (neck PU directly to jack).
