    Default Kingsley Bastion

This, to me, is an absolutely glorious amp. If I could sell both amps this is the one I'd want. I frankly don't hear one bad tone in it, and Simon Jarrett, who builds it, is an absolutely killer player! I sent this clip to Eric and said....THIS is the OD tone I want! I particularly love the 335 with the "mild overdrive" setting, although the strat sounds awesome too...

Anyway, without further ado, here it is:

Thanks, Strat to my ears in this clip sound very nice. And guy is also nice player as you mentioned. Never heard for this amp. Each day on FT, a new lesson.

You really shouldn't be posting stuff this good, you know...

But, at just shy of a couple of grand, it's not exactly cheap!

...means, not sold by weight? Good thing is not as heavy as Mesa does.... Just bad joke,... this amp has philosophy of Orange amps: small, nothing special but - rocks!

What about that new Mesa Mark V 22-something watt head? I think it might even be smaller than the Bastion, and it comes with a Cab Clone built in!

You mean: Mesa Mark Five 25? It shall be helpful too, just a little bit is missing 13 hundred US greens.

I once had a Mesa Mark 5 and did not like the clean tones at all.

Ah, I mentioned these muscle amp due to brutal, violent sound, heavy distortion not in the light of playing blues. I think that beside Fender, VOX is hard to find out some nice and warm sounded amp, but not limited just to these two, but here these two are more likely to appear than any Mesa...
You know, here when someone say: I have a Mesa amp, nobody ask which model, each Mesa is great Mesa. Maybe weird, but Mesa amps have big retrospection here, probably after Metallica's Black album time... but tube powered Marshalls are also highly appreciated, JCM 800 and JCM 900 even not all of JCM aren't always same, you must be enough lucky to get one.

Actually, I must retract that statement - it was a DC-5, not a Mark 5. I chose it over a Blue Angel, which was a gorgeous-sounding clean amp but had no overdrive to speak of. Should have gone with the Blue Angel and a good pedal. Amp builders nowaday (Kingsley is a good example) can give you the best of both worlds in one amp.
