Ok, I know, it's a Fender forum, and I love my Strat and my Tele, BUT, I had a "jazz box" I didn't really play much and traded it for a Dot....nice full, rich tones= happy man!

Nice! Those Dots get a lot of love everywhere I've heard them discussed. Play it hard and often!

So, ever since I got my 72 Thinline, I really didn't play the Dot as much as I thought I would, so a guy traded me an Epi Les Paul Custom Pro for it! Lovin' it!

Not quite a Black Beauty Doc but a stellar trade nevertheless!

I have several Epi Les Pauls and for me they are a great guitar for the money. I have taken to buying models made in 1989 with open book head stocks Epiphone switched over to the current design right after this model year.

Any time I see one on C/L I make an effort to buy it. I bought this guitar about five years ago for $225.00 these are pictures from the original listing. This was the first time I had heard of the 1989 models and less than a week later another one with the same finish was listed. I was on a roll and bought that one as well. for $250.00

At the time Epi was using a sticker to put the serial numbers on the guitars and the two guitars I bought were within 100 of each other. These don't come up on C/L very often and you have to hunt for them. Often the sellers aren't players and don't know about the head stock design difference, they are cleaning out the garage getting rid of old stuff.

Since buying these two within a week five years ago i may have run across two or three more and passed on those.
