Question About The Custom Shop & Financing Of Guitars.....

I'm almost scared to ask this......

I'm a disabled 37 year old man who is afflicted with Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus (the latter affects my thinking/memory at times) and, just once in my lifetime, I would love to own an FCS Tele (mainly the Masterbuilt Paisley) but....the one and only way I could pay for it would be to finance the guitar because I live on a very low ($700.00/month) check - and most of that check goes towards my living expenses....

Does the FCS offer a payment option such as financing a guitar?

Hey Tony! Welcome to FT. Sorry to hear of your challenges! I don't know if Fender has a financing program; my feeling is they don't. Have you considered talking to a banker where your check is deposited and asking if they would consider it? Another option is setting aside some money each month (you'd have to do that after acquiring a loan anyway) until you have enough to order. Or enough to get to the banks "starting point" just in case they wouldn't loan you the total amount.

    best wishes,

    Lucky,

Thanks for the reply. I currently have a little over $650.00 saved for a guitar from a builder in OK (Mark Moore) who also does the Paisley finish and he also built himself a "Brent Mason" Telecaster that's absolutely gorgeous which I'm also hoping I can get my hands on. Also, there's a builder in California (Joe Cundy) who does exact re-creations of the old '68/'69 vintage paisley Teles.

The first guy's guitars cost around $1,500.00 - $1,675.00 for the paisley & Mason models.

The guy in California charges $2,100.00 - $2,700.00 for his Teles but they are downright beautiful!!

Here are pics of their work. The first two guitars are from the builder in Oklahoma and the others are from the guy in California.

BTW, howdy from another fellow WNC'er!!!

Hey, Tony, you're talking about my Okie pal Mark - he's a great guy and he and I have become friends via the Reranch forum. I can probably get you a great deal on one of his excellent Paisley bodies and I can do the rest for you for the cost of materials, whether it be a Fender neck or a neck spec'ed out specifically for you and cut by another friend, Tommy Rosamond at USACG. If you want to see some of my work, there are a lot of threads here in the DIY forum or you can check out "Aronson Custom Guitars" on Facebook. Let me know if I can help.

Tony, if you decide to take Mike up on his offer, he is as honest as the day is long, and his work is Top Notch. I have one of his bodies, and one of his Telecasters, and both are excellent.

No, "Tele Savalas" was already taken when I registered for the TDPRI. I'm "Old Doc Skinner" over there but haven't posted there in quite a while.
