Default My home is slowly getting taken over by Squiers!

It's been a while since I last posted. I seem to be gathering more Squiers--guitars and basses.

Most recently I got a deal on a Squier Precision TB--the Squier equivalent of Fender's 1970's Tele bass. Yes, the one with the copy of Seth Lover's "mudbucker" But the reissues seem to have more top end than the Fender originals that I remember from my gigging days. The originals were thumpy and muddy like the contemporaneous long scale Gibson EB-0s.

The pickup on my Squier TB is hot but has a bit of top end. It makes my Precision's pickup seem weak in comparison and is about as loud as the preamped Lace pickups in my Fender Jazz Plus

And the body seems to be basswood with ash veneers--lightweight but pretty. The bass balances well, too

I wish that the originals were as light and playable as this Squier. Maybe I wouldn't have spent all that time playing Jazz basses

There are a lot of Squiers out there that are pretty good guitars (and probably basses too). As a telecaster player I find myself in the same position: 13 and counting...

All right, the odd one might need a little electronics upgrade or pickup swap, but most of them are quite good...

Also having more guitars gives you an excuse to play more and to change guitars depending on your mood...

Resistance is futile - you just gotta go with the flow.

I don't have any Fender Squirrels... yet.
Some contend that rock 'n roll is bad for the body & bad for the soul
Bad for the heart, bad for the mind, bad for the deaf & bad for the blind.
It makes some men crazy and they talk like fools.
Makes some men crazy and they start to drool.
