Well bud, they are kinda expensive. I made each of them from three belt blanks. I used to get them from a Tandy Leather shop, but I think they've been out of business for a long time. Heck, back then the belts went for close to 20 bucks apiece. Then I found the Chicago Screws at a tack shop, y'know, a place that makes and fixes saddles and stuff like that. The brass circles I found at a crafts shop. I could send you the dimensions if you wanna try to make one for yourself, but I don't think I could make ya one for a decent price. And then you do already have to have Dunlop Strap Locks set up on your guitar for it to work. So you're looking at about 100 bucks in just the parts, if you can find 'em at all.

They are freakin' comfortable to wear, even for a long time with a heavy guitar hanging on it. And these straps have saved my spine. Way back when, I went in to see a chiropractor about all the pain I was having. He took some x-rays and asked me if I delivered mail (that was back when the dudes walked their routes with a heavy leather bag slung over one shoulder. He said that's the only guys he'd seen with a spine curved sideways like that. I told him, "No, I play a Les Paul." He said, "Oh, same thing."

So I started carving up pieces of leather and stuff, trying to come up with a solution. I worked on a big old belt for awhile, but could never get a guitar to balance right using that technique. Finally, I came up with this one, and it works for me.

That one in the picture is at least 20 years old now, and will easily outlast me!

Hey guys! Sorry for hijacking this thread!

The last bassist I played with bought one (not leather) but I couldn't tell you from where. BUT... somebody's makin' 'em and sellin' 'em. Sorry Stan... 20 years ago might have been too soon, but 3 years ago woulda been just right!!

Might have been from the MF guys... he would buy stuff from them....

Thank you, Graeme - I knew about that but had forgotten who made it and haven't had time to Google!

I'm gonna try that thank you for the link. If I like it I'll try to replicate it out of belt leather if I can find the place for the blanks and there is a tack shop in town I can get the fasteners. I broke my collar bone and shoulder and it bothers me after a gig. Thank you all for the info!

It might be just the thing for you, bud. It sure helped my back, neck and shoulder problems.
