Yeah, that's one reason I removed the pickguard.

The only complaint I have with the Duo Jet Im using is the floating bridge. If it were mine Id pin the bridge or do a les paul style bridge conversion. The Gretsch is quirky. it feels different and plays different than anyother guitar I have played but the sound is remarkable. Im in the market for a GH Signature myself or atleast a Duo in black...

Interesting that I just finished watching a demo video of a Gretsch Electromatic when I noticed this thread that I had missed before. I've always been intrigued by Gretsch's since I was a huge George Harrison fan, but I've never played many of their electrics. I have an old Gretsch archtop acoustic that was my first guitar and I still love.

The problem with this video is that this guy makes every guitar he plays sound terrific.

"But I don't want to go among mad people" Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat, "We're all mad here 'n stuff."

Andy can make a dumpster find sound great. I always thought basswood was not a good wood for guitars but that electromatic sounds great

Good vid. I like the jet too
if memory serves, I think there is a cool Elliot Easton model jet out there with Bigsby in green and it has gold hardware. Looks mighty fine.

I just sold my second and last Gretsch 5120. Both were absolutely beautiful guitars. Solid and smooth playing but I just didn't really bond with them so I let them go instead of just letting them sit in a closet. I still prefer my Ibanez hollowbody with the Gibson pickups. It's a thinner body and it just seems to suit my style more. Nothing against Gretsch but it didn't work for me. Someday I may try one again but it won't be any time soon.
