    Default Assembling a Jazz Bass

    Hello

I have a MIM Jazz Bass body (cf picture). Do you think it's possible to put the japan neck (cf picture) I would like to buy? It's seems that the neck has 4 different holes than the body and the fretboard is longer… Do you think it will fit?

    Thanks

If the only place the fretboard is the little overlap where the 'last' fret is, you should be oK.... Except for the hole drilling part. If you don't mind drilling more holes and the new holes don't interfere with the old holes so you can't use either neck ('cause that would suck)

Hopefully you'll get more informed opinions than mine.... I don't be swappin' parts much..... Much....

You almost need it there to see how the neck fits in the body pocket. Seems risky but I haven't done any bass work so I don't know about them as much.
I'm not sayin' that, I'm just sayin'......

I thought he had it there.... since he says the holes don't match... Could be wrong....

Don't buy unless you can try. Rule #1.

Is the neck at Stratosphere? If so ask them about compatibility. They sell lots of parts and should know what fits.

I just put together a Jazz bass using an SX neck and a Squier body. I had to have the pocket widened by 2mm to take the neck. Fortunately, my brother had access and the knowledge to do it.
