Default My early summer album of the week

I've been listening to these guys alot this week since the weather is reflecting summer and it makes me feel great! I like everything from the 78' Tuna fish album backwards... The last time I caught them live was between the LIVE album and the new Tuna Fish album back in Indiana in early 78'. They had some great shows and some cool stints on the Midnight Special....

I jammed these two records yesterday and today and it felt great. I hope you like them too.

Good choices, Rory. Where in Indiana did you see them? They're actually my favorite group. Like all the songs on REO, Tuna, HiFi, Good Trouble, Wheels Are Turnin'. Saw them first in '85. I think I've seen them about 5 times. The Tuna album was first released 34 years ago on March 16, 1978.

    Hey thanks,

That Indiana show was at the Hammond Civic Center. It was 3 bands. The Hounds, The Babys, and REO that day. Kevin kept talking about the Tuna album and we didnt know what he was talking about since it wasnt released yet. Fun stuff. We crashed a car on the way out to pickup tickets for that show. General Admission. $7.50 per ticket.

I've been listening to REO in the gym the last couple of days. What a coincidence. They had a great vibe before Kevin Cronin got obsessed with the radio-friendly ballad era which Teleblooz refers to.
I'm not sayin' that, I'm just sayin'......

    Now that's funny right there!

Really tho, those guys had some good stuff early on! I love that 70's rock sound. I was getting depressed when they went all ballads and then all the metal bands felt the need to have ballads and I was really bummed.

I liked Ridin' the Storm Out - guitar player was Gary Richrath or something like that. Lost interest when they got too poppy.

That was when Richrath left and Cronin took over the running of the band.
