Redd's '53 had no finish left on it for many years and it held up fine. The Roasted maple is supposed to be even more stable - so I'm going to spray minimal nitro so he can wear it back to bare wood on the back in fairly short order.

The neck is from Tommy Rosamond (USACG). He found me a real beauty.

Mike Is roasting the Maple a fairly new process ? The first I have heard of it was in a recent article I read on Erie Ball. Did USACG handle this for you or are you playing with the oven again ? Nice Piece I have had Tommy pick me out a few body's and necks they do a great job.

Roasting maple is fairly new to the guitar neck business, but apparently has been around for quite a while if you talk to woodworkers. Tommy buys the blanks already roasted, and the markup is considerable. If I were looking into a new business to go into, I'd open up a maple-roasting shop!

New body arrived today; better than the first - lighter, more resonant and nicer grain. And smooth as a baby's arse!
