Default New guitar day here in Texas!

Just went and picked up a 1995 Fender (Mexican) Jazz Bass over in Dallas on my way to a jam. It was a craigslist refugee, and I only paid 280. Amazing what the tax man will make you do. His loss is my gain. He said he just bought it to jam with friends when the time came for it here and there. I believe him...for a '95, this thing looks great. Olympic white with white scratchplate. It doesn't have the metal knob plate like most Jazzers, the pickguard extends to where that would usually go. It has white strat knobs, which I really want to change to tele knobs for some reason...and a rosewood neck. The headstock logo is one of those solid black ones that you sometimes see on Japanese Fenders, but I check the serial number and it seems legit enough. I'll get some pictures up on here when I get a chance to put it down for a second or two. Also, I was originally going to refinish it in Sonic Blue, but that white is sort of yellowy like it sat in the light of a window on a stand for most of its life, so I might just leave it how it is, because its definitely got some mojo of its own. The neck is also very nicely ambered on the back. Well, I'm excited and all I've got to say is that there's some serious groovin' ahead.

    Interesting...Left hand bass strung righty.
Most of them in your collection are that way..according to your sig. I'm (politely) curious...why?

When I took up bass in the mid 70s, there was no way you could walk into a music shop and find a left-handed bass, just wasn't gonna happen. And if you did, it would've been quite pricey, especially for a high-schooler washing dishes after school to earn enuff $$ to buy his first bass. So, I bought a righty Kay for $65 and flipped it over. That's how I learned. In the lefty guitar community it's actually not that unusual.

That is a beautiful Bass. I am the Walrus!
