I've thought about those myself, they seem nice. I've also thought about the tweed Peavey. Have you seen those?
I question the one on ebay. The pics are of two different amps, placed on the cardboard box the same way.

I didn't find the one with the 2 different amps pictured, but there's a few
Vintage 50's and Vintage 30's like this one. Don't know much about them though.
Peavey does have a new model tweed thing but it's about the same price as the Fender so.......

The ebay posting with the two different amps is the one you gave. One amp has the blues deluxe signage on top, the other doesn't. That's why I was thinking it might be two different amps. That's a nice looking Peavey (except for here and there), 200 is a good deal I think. Let us know what you get and how you like it.

I think the signage is just a card placed on top of the amp during packing.

A lot of the tutorials apply to the Blues Deluxe as well as the Hot Rod Deluxe.

Take a look at Carvin. Great amps always over looked.

There's something so nice & retro about tweed - gotta get me one one of these days. I get the Carvin catalog, and there's a nice mid-sized one that would fit the bill nicely. I think it's called a Nomad. I've been looking out for a combo that's a little bigger than my Blues Junior, but smaller than my half-stack.

I'm not much of a techie and my ears don't hear subtle differences in tone
so I'm not really into modifications much. If it's a little bright my idea of a
mod would be to turn up the bass on my Tele. I will bookmark that site though
    for future info.

I rented a brand new Blues Deluxe for one month during which time I have 5 gigs
so I'll know clear enough if this amp is gonna do it for me. I dragged out my old tweed
gig case and my re-ish tweed Tele case so I'm gonna be quite the tweed dandy
when I roll in with this 3 piece luggage set! LOL

    Great minds think alike.
A couple days ago, I just saw a local music store have a price list for renting amps. They listed around $70/per day and $150/per week. I was thinking it's a good idea to rent if the amp is 1000 or more, that way you can see in your own setting whether you'd like it or not.

I don't know much about the other amps mentioned, but the Hot Rod Deluxe will give you LOTS of bass.
