Peavey Raptor
any experience with these? I am looking for a cheap electric to leave at my parents' house. these are in the $100 or less range, which is about right.

No, but I've have good experiences with the Ibanez Mikro, $124.

I would say stick with the Squier. I have an Ibanez EX Series and the electricals are junk in those.

I got the raptor plus for $65 to keep at my folks house for when I visit. (United breaks guitars, you know). I then stopped into a shop out there as was able to swap it and some cash for a law-suit era japanese Les Paul copy.
