    Default Silverface TR value

Thinking about getting rid of my 70's master volume twin. How much are they worth? I see some selling for $500 and then I see some for $1500. What's the deal?

Master volume ones will be in the $500 range. They are the least desired. Original blackfaces will bring well over $1000, and non-master silver faces around + or - $1000. The best guide to seeing what your amp will bring is to find one of the same model that has sold on ebay and see what it sold for. That is the true gauge of what they're worth - what someone is actually willing to pay; not an "experts" guess.

in the UK master vol. SFTR go for anything between £400- 800 (about $750-1500) but i suspect this is due to the fact there are not as many available in this country.

they can be a real bargin. get one, blackface mod it (with a tech) and there you go. a blackface for around $800.

plus they have easy alterable circuits compared to the PCBs that abound nowadays

Hi, I think they are correct ,anywhere between $500/800, on E bay look at completed auctions, it shows what they actually did or didnt sell for. good luck
